Happy National Health Centers Week

Happy National Health Centers Week

health-center-week

Every year, the second week in August is National Health Center Week. This year’s theme was “The Chemistry for Strong Communities.”

We know we have the right makeup here at Northshore Health Center. And we couldn’t appreciate more how hard our staff work to ensure that the community has access to the quality healthcare that they deserve.

This week we spent some time thanking the staff who work with the homeless population, as we know how important their work is to the quality of life for many of our patients. We celebrated the patients by hosting some small resource fairs at many of our sites for Patient Appreciation Day at even met them out at the Railcat’s Steelyard for a quick health fair.

We can’t say thank you enough to all of our stakeholders – the community, our board members, and our staff – for all that they do to make sure we can do what we do. Each and every one of you is important to making sure we can make an impact in the communities we are in.

And what a great week to open a new site! Check out our quick blog and video of the grand opening of our Schererville site inside the Strack and Van Til.

We are only able to continue to expand due to the need and the assistance of our partners, staff, and community. This is why we are even more thankful this week that we will also be moving our La Porte clinic as of this coming Monday, August 16th.

National Health Centers Week is one of our favorite times to connect with our community, and this year was no exception. The week ends with a Focus Day on Saturday, August 14th, on children’s health. We take the health of all your little ones seriously here at NorthShore, and our school physicals are still available for all who need them. Don’t miss out on scheduling your appointment and taking advantage of the free backpack with school supplies.
