Discount Medication Program

NorthShore Health Centers is participating in the government’s 340B program that helps eligible patients receive discounted prescription drugs.

What is 340B?

340B is a government-funded program that allows NorthShore patients to receive prescription medication at a discount.

What pharmacy can I go to?

NorthShore has two onsite pharmacies that participate in the 340B program. NorthShore is also contracted with certain Walgreens pharmacies in our service area that participate in the 340B program. Patients must schedule a visit with a NorthShore provider to take advantage of the 340B pharmacy program at NorthShore or contracted Walgreens pharmacies.

According to the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) “Disposable Act,” private citizens should dispose of their unwanted medications in a secure, convenient, and responsible manner. In order to give our patients and public citizens a way to properly dispose of their unwanted medications and medication bottles in a safe and effective manner, a Drug Take Back Bin is located in each of NorthShore’s onsite pharmacy lobbies. Please see the Pharmacist for additional questions on the Disposable Act and Drug Take Back Bins.
