Dr. Murphy received her undergraduate degree from Emory University in Atlanta where she majored in Biology and minored in Religion with a focus on the historical impact of women in religion. This influenced her passion for women’s health and her chosen path to become an OBGYN. Dr. Murphy’s postgraduate training includes hormone therapy, and she is certified by the America board of Integrative and Holistic Medicine. This allows her to be able to offer both a conventional and functional approach to hormone replacement for peri-menopausal and menopausal women.
When she’s not in the office, Dr. Murphy enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her husband John, and her four children. Personal fitness has been a mainstay for her, and she was a key founder of the Momentum5k, a fundraiser for local charities for women and children of Northwest Indiana. In the last two years, Dr. Murphy has picked up Pickleball as her newest hobby.
