Dedicated to Stacy McKay
For Her Courage and Strength
In January of 2004, the NorthShore Health Center at Portage High School was dedicated as the Stacy McKay Health & Education Center in honor of the 23-year old woman who lost her battle with leukemia on September 26, 1995.
During her year long illness, Stacy’s quest to generate public awareness about the need for blood and bone marrow donors resulted in the addition of 5,000 donors to the National Regional Bone Marrow Registry. Her courage during her illness and her unselfish commitment to the bone marrow cause is inspiring to everyone who has heard her story.
