School and Sports Physicals at NorthShore

Back-to-school and sports physicals can be included in your child’s annual well-child check and are often the only visit most kids and teenagers have with their pediatrician every year. This annual physical gives the pediatrician a chance to give the child a thorough physical exam and address any emotional, developmental, or social concerns in a confidential setting. They will also ensure your child is caught up on any required immunizations per the school’s request.

Many schools, daycares, and even summer camps require physicals with documentation that children have up-to-date vaccinations and are physically able to participate in activities. NorthShore pediatricians will have accurate records to assist you in filling out any required forms and paperwork.

Additionally, pediatricians can access the medical records and health history in order to complete the necessary sports physical and paperwork needed for your child’s extracurricular activities. Our pediatricians are trained to identify and treat both medical and bone/joint problems that are commonly seen in children and adolescents who play sports.

Any child that comes in for their physical during the months of June through August will receive a free backpack and school supplies, while supplies last, to assist with the back-to-school checklist all parents deal with at the start of the school year.
